What Are Beaver Scouts? Scouting is aimed at all ages (from school starters upwards). Beavers are the youngest category in the Scouts group. Beaver Scouts is very popular and we currently have a waiting list. If you are interested in joining, please call and enroll on our waiting list at your earliest opportunity. Beaver Scouts are young people aged between 6 and 8 years old. Young people can join Beaver Scouts in the three months leading up to their sixth birthday.
Beavers move to the next Section, Cub Scouts, between eight and eight years six months. Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts. Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. Beavers usually meet together once a week in a Beaver Scout Colony. Sometimes the Beaver Scout Colony organise short plays and other entertainment for parents. This is in addition to their usual games and activities
|
Now We Are Two! As interest in membership of the Beavers increased, the need for a second venue become key to moving forward. At Easter 2007, we added a second colony / venue to our Beavers. We now have an Aylburton colony (called River Group) and our Lydney colony (Forest Group). Aylburton village hall is the second venue. Please call for times and dates etc. A special Thank you to our leaders for all the hard work in running two sections! Some Beaver Group Activities A mixture of both common Beaver activities and special trips / outings can be seen on this page.
